Foreign entrepreneurs who invest $1,800,000 (previously $1,000,000) or at least $900,000 (previously $500,000) in “targeted employment areas” may be eligible for an EB-5 green card. Qualifying foreign investors may also include their spouses and unmarried minor children in the green card process. There is an annual cap of 10,000 EB-5 visas available in this category each year. The EB-5 is initially granted on a conditional basis and thereafter requires a petition to remove the condition.
